Tip: You already have so much to do in planning your special
event that anytime you get a idea, write it down and try to take
care of as much as possible ahead of time. Look into places, check
with friends, research events of entertainment to see, having as
much at your fingertips to plan how you want your guests to be part
of the group.
There are a number of other ways to make sure your traveling guests
feel included.
Assign
a friend or family member to be their contact. If there is a lull
between your ceremony and reception, the contact can include them
in their plans.
Invite them to the Rehearsal Dinner or the Morning After Brunch
to give them something to do.
Organize a group tour of your town. The night before the wedding,
rent a minibus and ask a friend to drive out-of-town guests around
town to point out some hot spots. It's a great way to acclimate
them to your area while letting them get to know other guests.
Maybe
if you are at a popular area, arrange Golf Tournament, Beach Party
or Barbecue to have a relaxing fun time before the main event gets
under way.
For evening events, check into local plays and Theatre Clubs just
for fun.
Your out-of-town guests have incurred significant expenses and
have taken the time to attend your wedding and celebrate with you.
Gestures of appreciation will help them feel welcome for traveling
from afar to share your special day.
Remember as always to Have Fun, Keep a Smile and Stay Organized.
