The Bridal Party A to Z

Tip: The Father of the Groom might feel that he has not very much to do, but his role is very important to the Groom that he is included also. Immediate family is the glue that holds things together.

  • Selects attire that complements groom's attire
  • Makes accommodations for groom's out of town guests along with Groom's Mother
  • With Groom's Mother, plans Rehearsal Dinner
  • Offers Toast to Bride at Rehearsal Dinner
  • Arrives dressed at ceremony site one hour before the wedding for photographs
  • Follows Mother of the Groom as she is escorted by best man or head usher before the processional begins
  • Sits in the right front pew to the left of Groom's Mother during the ceremony
  • Escorts Groom's Mother, to her left, immediately following bride's parents during the recessional
  • Can witness the signing of the marriage certificate
  • Stands to the left of the Groom's Mother and to the right of the bride in the receiving line
  • Sits to the left of Groom's Mother at parents' table during the reception

Having family involved can really make everyone feel special. It gives them the feeling that it is their event also--and it really is. A wedding is the joining of two families with all the taditions and customs. Make sure to remember there is life after the wedding. And family is forever!!

As always, have fun and, of course, Stay Organized!

Fondly,
Marlene
