Book all appointments early enough to get the time slots you wish--space
them out to be easy on yourself.
Your vendors usually will require final payment during your last
meeting, so be prepared in your budget.
Meet
with your Wedding Consultant to develop a time line for your day-of
itinerary. Make copies to take to your vendors so each will know
the order of the day.
Plan meetings with your Photographer, Videographer, Clergy, Musicians,
Cakery, Florist, Limousine, Clergy, Make-up person, Hair Stylist
and Manicurist. Discuss with them any changes to the itinerary and
any new information they may need.
Of course, you will be doing your final dress fittings during this
time, too. Make sure to wear your new shoes around the house to
break them in for comfort.
Tuxedos will be in the week of the event and will usually not be
ready for pickup until the Thursday or Friday night before the wedding.
Check to make appointments for entire bridal party so it will not
conflict with the Rehearsal and the Rehearsal Dinner.
Your food selections will usually be completed this month and your
approximate guest count given 2 weeks before the event and a final
count during the last week. Be cautious when figuring this.
You will then be able to work on your room layout and assigned
seating for your guests. I recommend to write your guests names
a couple of weeks before and not write your table numbers in until
the last week as there are usually last minute changes. This saves
from having to start over on the ones already done. If you are having
them done in calligraphy, check with your calligrapher when the
final date will be to have them completed.
Your items like napkins, favors, toasting glasses, serving sets
and placecards should be dropped off at reception site a couple
of days before the event.
Schedule your last work day to make all these things go easy for
you.
And, of course, stay organized!!
