Tip: Guest Hotel and Arrival Information
For
those of you that have "The Wedding Workbook",
the special section dedicated to this will come in handy to keep
organized for out of town guests.
You may want to research 2 to 3 locations for your guests to
stay at to fit their different personalities. Think of location,
elegance and price to accommodate them. It is not unusual for
them to want to stay at different locations depending if their
children are with them, if they want to be closer to you or just
in the heart of it all.
If your wedding is at a hotel, it will be very easy to negotiate
better room rates considering that your event will be there. When
selecting other locations, don't be afraid to negotiate there
as well. Remember, it doesn't hurt to ask.
Another thing to keep track of will be which hotel your guests
will be staying at in case you need to get in touch with them.
Write down the guest's name, hotel and room number.
As
a very nice touch, you can make up welcome bags or baskets and
have them delivered to the room when they arrive. It will require
extra work on your part, but will be greatly appreciated. Each
bag can be customized to fit each room. Fill each bag with fruit,
candy, nuts, soda, juice, crackers, cookies and maybe some personal
items like toothpaste, toothbrush, cologne, etc. A note can be
attached to the bag handle so the bell man will know which to
deliver where. You can also add an itinerary with directions and
things to do so they will have them handy.
It is important to utilize your friends and family to help you
out when your guests arrive at the train, bus or airport. You
will need to keep track of arrival and departure times of each
guest so there is no confusion. This will also help you if you
are having a Wedding Weekend where more things are happening.
You will be able to know what other events they will attendmaybe
the rehearsal dinner or a Sunday brunch.
Whatever you style may be, hope this helps you Stay Organized.
