Rehearsal Dinners A to Z
Tip: The Dinner--The Seating--and Speeches, Toasts, Gift
Giving
A Mexican Style, Hawaiian, Barbeque/Country-Western Theme, etc.
can set the perfect tone for this event.
If your party is over 15 or 20, you probably want to ask about
a set menu because you may get a break on price, and the dinner
will include salad, entree and dessert. The menu for the dinner
is entirely up to you and the host.
Most couples are requesting a casual menu for the Rehearsal Dinner.
Couples today are going for the unique style, great atmosphere and
food with fresh ingredients. Any way you look at it, make it fit
with your own personality.
Another aspect of the Rehearsal Dinner to consider is the seating
arrangements. Consider using Place Cards to ease seating arrangements.
Think about who knows who and where they would feel most comfortable.
This is a great opportunity to introduce guests to each other so
at the Wedding they will already know someone. Also, think about
how many people you want to seat at a table and whether you want
round or rectangular tables.
Right before dinner is served, the host will usually say a few
words and give a toast to the bride and groom, and may provide a
few other toasts as well. This is also the perfect time to give
the wedding party and the parents their gifts. At a Rehearsal Dinner,
it is common to pass out gifts for the bridal party and to your
parents. It is a time of sharing and just being with family and
friends to celebrate privately before the big day. This is the tension
breaker at the rehearsal so enjoy! Just remember to end the rehearsal
dinner relatively early to ensure that good night's rest.
As always, you want to enjoy all aspects of your pre-wedding parties.
Have fun with this and make your style shine through.
Stay organized!
