Tip: Booking your Ceremony Site

Questions to find out when booking your ceremony site can amount to more than you may realize. Signing your contract may be easy, but these details should not be overlooked.

After you have selected the time of day and have everything in writing, make sure you ask these questions:
  • How many weddings are booked in that location for the same day?
  • How many hours do you get in your time slot?
  • Will that allow enough time for photos before and after?
  • Will there be a changing room for the bride? bridesmaids? groom? groomsmen?
    • Or do you all have to come already dressed?
  • If you wish, can you bring in your own clergyperson?
  • Is the organist included? What about a vocalist? Are they included?
  • If they are included, is it appropriate to make a donation to the sanctuary or should you tip them?
  • Does your ceremony site come with a consultant? Who does the rehearsal?
  • What are your days and times available for your rehearsal?
  • Are there additional cleaning deposits? What about restrictions for children in the wedding party?
  • Is it okay to drop flower petals down the aisle?

Any other things you may be using in the ceremony like:

  • animals in the ceremony
  • bells ringing
  • bubbles
  • birdseed outside
  • butterfly releases
  • etc.

Ask where the photographer and videographer will be able to stand?

Important details can make all the difference to your wedding style.

Enjoy! Enjoy! Enjoy! And, of course, Stay Organized!

Fondly,
Marlene
