Tip: The Art of Tipping
How
to survive this delicate issue...
Who gets a tip? Who does not? It is hard to remember--then again,
how much?
Plan Ahead...You should make a list of which vendors
you want to tip and how much; stuff envelopes with a check or
cash and thank you notes ahead of time. You should designate your
maid of honor or the best man to hand out the envelopes at your
wedding. This way, you can enjoy your special day.
Who to Tip...Always check when signing contracts what
gratuities have been figured into the total amount of the fee.
Sometimes gratuities are included. You don't want to tip a vendor
twice for the job he has done. As for who to tip, when in doubt,
tip.

Double-check
with your caterer, banquet manager or wedding consultant concerning
the proper people to tip. You don't want to leave anyone out.
How Much...Never be afraid to ask someone how much is
an appropriate amount to tip. Many people are afraid to discuss
money, but it is perfectly reasonalbe to ask your vendor how much
they normally receive for a tip. You can always tip vendors 20%
for a job well done. Tipping rules are not set in stone. Have
a cushion in your budget so you may bump up your tip for exceptional
service. You can also go lower on your tip for below standard
service. But, if you do this, be prepared to stand behind your
tip.
As always, you can never learn too much for your special day.
Remember to Enjoy, Enjoy, Enjoy!!!
