Tip:
Well, I am sure I really got you going with the Traditional "Who
Pays for What". BUT, we are in a new world in the sense that
weddings are very expensive compared to many years ago. Now, if
you want to have a nice wedding where friends and family attend
and it is important to you, be willing to comprimise on these lists.
Now, the Bride and Groom are getting married at an older age an
usually have established careers. If this is your situation, you
too can be an equal participant.
The Groom's side need no longer to be the silent partner. They
are very involved today and are in most cases very willing to do
more.
If you can do it, divide all expenses 3 ways--Bride's Parents,
Groom's Parents, Bride & Groom.
Another suggestion might be that each set of parents pay for certain
things: Band/Music, all Flowers and Videography for the Groom's
Family; Wedding Stationery, etc, Wedding Consultant, and Transportation
for the Bride and Groom; then the Bride's Family can pay the rest
Anyway to do it, plan ahead and discuss openly with your families
what will be most comfortable for all of them.
We do not want anyone to be in debt for years to come for the Wedding.
It should be a joyous and harmonious time for all with no stress
about money.
As always, Have Fun and Stay Organized!
