Tip: A wedding cake is a very important part of the wedding tradition. It is fun to set up an appointment and taste different kinds. If you have more than one layer, you can have a variety—different kinds on different layers. Yum!

cakeYou can even order a small cake just for photos and large sheet cakes to serve your guests. This is a valuable money-saving tip. It will enable the staff to serve quicker as they can start cutting sooner and plate them.

You can think about ordering cake boxes for guests to take home a piece. This can be used as a favor.

Always let the photographer and videographer pose you for best shots on your cake cutting.

Cut the cake and place it on a plate, then the groom takes a small piece and feeds it to the bride first. Then the bride feeds a piece to the groom. DO NOT SMASH CAKE into each others face—this is not funny. Treat each other with love and respect—remember everyone is watching you.

Have a warm wet cloth near by in case there are any unwanted crumbs.

Remember, your plastic pieces used to assemble the cake must be returned to the cakery. You will usually pay a refundable deposit that will be refunded after they are returned. And they must be returned clean.

Don't keep the top layer for one year--have a new one made for your anniversary. It will be worth it. Enjoy!

Fondly,
Marlene
