Tip: Love is in the air with the holiday season. We are plenty busy preparing for the January, February, March and April Weddings. It is so amazing how fast this year has really gone by. Bride's and Groom's are definitely taking longer preparation time for their weddings. Usually one year or more.

vera wang on weddingsVera Wang has come out with her first book, "Vera Wang on Weddings". It retails for $60.00. After reading some excerpts of advice from her book, we thought you would find it interesting for this month's tip:

  • For extra attention, Monday is usually the best day to shop for a bridal gown
  • Bareness is no longer taboo, but the older the bride, the less she should reveal
  • The simpler the gown, the more precise the workmanship should be.
  • If a dress is elaborate, the bouquet should be simple It's crucial to choose just the right shade of white for your skin tone. While pure white can flatter a rosy complexion, warmer tones look best for a darker complexion
  • Even an inexpensive gown can look elegant if it is properly fitted The earlier the service, the shorter the glove; the more formal the wedding, the longer the glove
  • The most extraordinary gown can be ruined by garish beading or excessive ornamentation. It's always best to avoid inexpensive beading
  • With jewelry, less is usually better and infinitely more modern.
  • The more diminutive the jewelry, the more youthful the look.
  • A choker can age a young woman or flatter an older one
  • Even with a vintage gown, choose a modern hairstyle

Interesting bit of wisdom from a much loved professional. Hope you enjoyed Vera's thoughts.

Until next month, enjoy your holiday with family and friends. Continue to Stay Organized. And, of course, Have Fun.

Fondly,
Marlene
