Tip: Today, there is a lot more going on for weddings
and special events than in the past. Sometimes there will be
a Golf Tournament on the Thursday, possibly a Rehearsal Dinner,
Pre-Nuptial Dinner, or Dinner the Night Before on Friday, the
Wedding Ceremony and Reception on Saturday and A Brunch for
out-of-town relatives on Sunday. Other events could be a Beach
or Pool Party, Picnic, Baseball or Football Games, Barbeque,
Mexican Fiesta, etc.
There may also be Hotel information you want to let your guests
know about as well as special room rates.
Directions to the events of the weekend are important as well
as to the hotel they may be staying at.
With the introduction of computers being so popular, it is
now common to have the Bride and Groom have their own websites.
These items do not normally belong on your wedding invitations--they
can be put on other cards (possibly).
The best way and most convenient way would be to send out a
Save-the-Date card in advance of the wedding. It can be sent
out as far as you need it to be, but I recommend 6 months to
1 year before or it may be forgotten.
This is a wonderful tool to use as it can be so versatile and
customized to your needs.
They can be included with a moving announcement or holiday
card mailing. Remember, the best weddings are the ones you enjoy
while you are planning it. So stay organized and have fun.
