The Bridal Party A to Z

Tip: There are roles for everyone in the immediate family and let's not forget the Mother of the Groom.

  • Helps prepare guest list for groom and his family
  • Is available for all pre-wedding parties
  • Selects attire that complements Mother of the Bride's attire
  • Makes accommodations for groom's out of town guests
  • With groom's father, plans Rehearsal Dinner
  • Arrives dressed at ceremony site 1 hour before the wedding for photographs
  • Is escorted down the aisle by Best Man or Head Usher, to his right, before Mother of the Bride is seated
  • Sits in the right front pew to the right of Groom's Father during the ceremony
  • Is escorted out by Groom's Father to his right immediately following Bride's Parents during the recessional
  • Can witness the signing of the marriage certificate
  • Stands to the left of Bride's Parents in the receiving line
  • Sits to the right of Groom's Father at the parent's table during the reception
  • Dances with the Groom after the First Dance--the Mother/Son dance
  • Greets guests at the reception if there is no receiving line
  • She is available for alterations and fittings for her dress, if necessary
  • Pays her own transportation to wedding if necessary

The Mother of the Groom has a very important role if she wants to. She can be as involved as she wants to be and help out as much as she can. Always give her a chance to be involved if she wants to. Remember, there is life after the wedding and you want to keep all relationships positive.

As always, have fun and Stay Organized!

Fondly,
Marlene
